Event attended by prominent Monegasque dignitaries and discussed economy, environment and technology
The Monaco Embassy in Poland marked the 16 th October by holding its own ‘Monaco Day in Warsaw’, in collaboration with the Polish Coalition for Innovation and the Honorary Consulate of Monaco in Poland. Monegasque politicians and businessmen, the event featured a number of panels and discussions on sharing knowledge and ideas on sustainability, technology and innovation.
The Monegasque delegation was made up of notable members of the national cabinet, including Ambassador Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, First Counselor Lorenzo Ravano, Head of Division at the Interministerial Delegation for Digital Transition Serge Robillard, Director General of the Department of Tourism and Congress Cyril Gomez and Deputy Director of Tourism and Congress, Guy Antognelli.
Also in attendance were some of the biggest names in Monaco’s forward-thinking industrial and business sector. Director of Monach Tech Fabrice Marquet and Director of Monaco Investment at the Monaco Economic Board Justin Highman Rachid Benchaouir and Jade Aureglia, the founders of progressive start-up companies Coraliotech and UrbanLab by Onhys, respectively. The first panel discussed Monaco ‘s ongoing approach to turning the Principality into a sustainable city – state, with an emphasis on energy security through renewable resources and an eco – friendly approach towards urban development. Prince Albert II introduced the National Energy Transition Pact early last year in a bid to improve Monegasque policy on renewables, sustainable transportation and recycling initiatives. The ultimate goals of the pact are to reduce carbon emissions by 50% before 2030 and achieve complete carbon neutrality by 2050.
The second panel focuses more on how to innovate. Monegasque and Polish experts debated the advantages of new systems such as blockchain and 5G internet services, which can revolutionize not only national and international economies, but also the way we live our daily lives. The Embassy in Warsaw, attended by the aforementioned politicians and businessmen. The success of the endeavor further demonstrates the excellent relationship between the two countries and points to a long and fruitful future working together.
