The first official meeting of the Monaco Digital Advisory Council (MDAC) has taken place on November 28th and 29th. The council met in Monaco and was presided over by Prince Albert II.

The Monaco Digital Advisory Council is comprised of renowned experts from both the private and public sectors. Most council members have backgrounds in digital technologies. The MDAC’s purpose is to guide Monaco in its strategic vision for its path toward digitalization.

The following experts were present at the first council meeting:

> Nick Jennings – Professor in Artificial Intelligence at IMPERIAL COLLEGE LONDON, he is recognized as an expert in the field.
> Marc-André KAMEL – Monegasque, Partner and Director of BAIN & COMPANY, he heads the Distribution and Luxury division for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa and is one of the leaders in Transformation and Customer Strategy and Marketing.
> Axelle LEMAIRE – Former Secretary of State for Digital France, she is a partner at the ROLAND BERGER consulting firm.
> Hani MAHMASSANI – Professor at NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, he is an expert in the field of mobility.
> Hiroshi MIKITANI – Founder and CEO of RAKUTEN, the largest digital platform in Japan.
> Krishnakumar NATARAJAN: Co-founder and Executive Chairman of MINDTREE, India’s largest IT company in the smart city sector.
> Niklas MYHR: Professor at Chapman University, he is considered the world’s leading expert on social networks.
> Diego PIACENTINI – Government Commissioner for Digital Activity in Italy, first Vice-President of AMAZON and the company’s second-foremost shareholder ($3.2 billion).
> Balaji SRINIVASAN – Co-founder of COINBASE (Blockchain technology‘s biggest company) and partner at ANDREESSEN HOROWITZ (the largest venture capital fund in California).
> Gunhild STORDALEN – Founder and Executive Chairman of EAT FOUNDATION.

The Monaco Digital Advisory Council ‘s role now and in the future

This elite committee represents the Principality’s digital ambitions, both within its borders and internationally. Developing and executing a sophisticated, long-term vision for Monaco’s digital presence is paramount for the future and economic stability.

Each member tasked with finding solutions for advancing Monaco’s digital positions, placing their respective networks and businesses at the disposal of the Principality, and being ambassadors for Monegasque digital transition both in Monaco and abroad.
