The Commemoration Committees of Prince Albert I and the Executive Committee Albert I – 2022 were installed this week by the Sovereign Prince. The ceremony took place at the Oceanographic Museum, in the presence of the Minister of State and many personalities.
Created by Sovereign Ordinance 7.253 of 14 December 2018, the commemoration committee of Prince Albert I is responsible for the study and organization of the events planned to celebrate the life and work of Prince Albert I, between 2019, centenary year of the creation of the International Commission for the Scientific Exploration of the Mediterranean Sea, and 2022, the centenary year of its disappearance.
Under the chairmanship of Mr. Robert Fillon, the Executive Committee will work towards the implementation of the program and the implementation of the events. He will hold his first meeting today. Different types of actors will be mobilised to carry out projects of all kinds intended for very diversified audiences.
In his speech, the Sovereign Prince emphasized: “I am convinced that a good celebration of the work of Prince Albert I can only be the image of this one: varied in the form as in the background. It will have to address different audiences: both the academic world, the curious of the history of science, international relations, pacifist militancy, and all those who are interested in the Principality with a title or another.
“Not to mention the students and students of our schools, and of course, I expect it to use the most modern production and distribution techniques, without abandoning the traditional media when they appear better adapted.”
