A big surprise. Guests of choice, a mythical group of French rap. This Tuesday at the Grimaldi Forum during the press conference of the 5th MAGIC (Monaco Anime Game International Conferences), the company Shibuya Productions, organiser of this event focused on pop culture, announced the arrival of the group IAM on March 9th.
“In pop culture, there is manga, animation, video games, cosplay, cinema, but there is also music, the IAM group are personalities who love this universe. proud to welcome them,” justifies Hervé Trouillet, artistic director.
After Kavinsky in 2016, Orelsan in 2017 and Mai Lan in 2018, the organisers are still striking with the arrival of the group from Marseille.
The rappers will also be part of the jury of the international cosplay competition where no less than 16 challengers from 15 different countries, who will embody costumed characters, will compete.
“It’s good to have an eclectic jury and not cosplay professionals,” admits Cédric Biscay, head of Shibuya Productions. IAM made a Sad Hill song, and we did a movie on Netflix. Sad Hill Unearthed.
Sad Hill is the famous Spanish cemetery where was shot the legendary scene of the western “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” in 1966.
