In the continuity of the public-private partnership dear to SICCFIN, the Monegasque Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) organized, in the auditorium of the Lycée Technique et Hôtelier de Monaco, on February 7th, 2019, an information meeting intended to prepare the representatives of the financial institutions of the Financial Center to the future deployment of the analysis assistance software, goAML.
During this presentation were also invited the representatives of other professions subject to the law n ° 1.362 of August 3rd, 2009, modified of which, in particular, the following associations and professional orders: AMAF, AMPA, Order of the experts accountants, Chamber of legal advice Chamber of Insurance, Monegasque Chamber of Watchmaking and Jewellery, AMCO, etc.
The goAML software developed and developed by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has, in addition to its primary purpose, which is to support operational and strategic analysis, many features. It will also produce more statistics and better quality.
It will also allow banks and other professionals to electronically submit their suspicious transaction reports to SICCFIN, which in turn can process them more quickly and efficiently.
At this meeting, which began with an address by Jean Castellini, Government Counselor – Minister of Finance and Economy, UNODC representatives Antoine Karam and Ameen Safadi presented the participants (Directors, IT specialists and compliance), the operation of the goAML software.
Philippe Boisbouvier, Acting Director of SICCFIN and Yann Raconnat le Goff, project coordinator at SICCFIN, responded to questions asked by the audience.
Prior to its deployment to all credit institutions in Monaco in mid-2019, a test period will be launched with the assistance of banks and management companies that have volunteered.
