The renown and quality of the three artists announced in the preview of the SBM Summer Festival suggest some very high-end programming coming to Monaco this year.
Who doesn’t love a good teaser? The Société des bains de mer (SBM) has just leaked the names of three artists who will animate the Salle des Etoiles and Salle Garnier stages this July. Toting Vanessa Paradis, Melody Gardot, and Charlie Winston, the Monegasque institution hits hard, even before revealing the rest of the season’s programming. The teaser is a clever way for launching the summer season of SBM concerts.
Songwriter Charlie Winston will open the festivities on July 4th and play his latest album, Square One. The Briton will make the short hop over as he has been living in Nice for several years with his family.
Guest starring Vanessa Paradis
Vanessa Paradis will follow Mr. Winston as the second summer festival date. This performance will mark the singer’s first return to a Principality stage in the last nine years. Though we have seen more of her on the silver screen than behind a microphone in recent years, she has kept her musical popularity intact. Evidenced by the success of her latest album and the single Ces mots simples, a song penned by her husband, Samuel Benchetrit.
Lastly, the eclectic Melody Gardot will put on a show at the Salle Garnier on July 12th. Her music, a mix of jazz, folk, fado, and bossa nova, promises to be an intoxicating evening.
An exciting start to the billing for a festival waving the flag of diversity this year. The complete programming will be announced during the month of March. We can’t wait!
