Tomorrow is a big day for Charles Leclerc. The young Monegasque driver will represent his new colors on the Melbourne circuit for the first Grand Prix of the 2019 season.
Charles Leclerc is nipping at the bit… Tomorrow, he will start his new adventure on the Albert Park circuit track for the first Grand Prix of the season in Melbourne. “It will obviously be a very special moment for me. This race will mark my debut with Ferrari and it will make it a truly unique Grand Prix. I dreamed of this moment since my childhood and it is a dream come true. For now, I’ll keep my feet on the ground and I know what I have to do,” he said earlier this week.
Conclusive tests…
The young 21-year-old Monegasque driver has already made his mark on Scuderia. And, for now, he has been able to restore the confidence placed in him by exploiting the potential of his Ferrari SF90. First at the private trials in Abu Dhabi in December 2018, then throughout the winter in Maranello. Not to mention the pre-season tests during which he impressed with his dexterity on the Catalunya circuit.
“I’m happy with the performance of the car during the tests and I can not wait to get back on track, because it’s a race weekend where we have to be rewarded for our winter work with a good result. It would be a great way to start the season and my collaboration with the Scuderia.”
Ferrari has indeed a favorite status to defend this weekend in Melbourne, especially against Mercedes and Red Bull. For the record, Leclerc’s teammate Sebastian Vettel has won the Australian Grand Prix for the last two seasons.
