The sportswear brand Kappa and AS Monaco have announced that the Italian brand will be responsible for outfitting the club beginning next year. This is the second time in the history of the brand that they will dress the Rouges et Blancs, having previously partnered with the club over 3 seasons, from 1998 to 2001.
The Rocher is known for seeking out what’s new. And yet, the latest news from La Turbie is not without a certain air of nostalgia. Indeed, the Italian brand Kappa, formerly equipment manufacturer for AS Monaco from 1998 to 2001, will be making an exciting comeback by dressing Monaco in red and white next season.
The transalpine brand will become the official technical equipment manufacturer for the club over the next 6 seasons, from July 1, 2019, until 2025. They follow up Nike whose collaboration with the princely club will end next June. The Italian brand will exclusively dress the entire club with its “Sport” & “Lifestyle” lines both on and off the field, including fan merchandise.
A second collaboration with Kappa that is reminiscent of AS Monaco’s golden years with Tigana then Puel, who became champions of France in 2000. Sides that were rich with talents like Marcelo Gallardo, David Trezeguet, Ludovic Giuly, Marco Simone, Willy Sagnol and Fabien Barthez.
Hopefully, this blast from the past will inspire future success for Jardim’s men, who can use every bit of help they can get.
