On Wednesday, March 6th, the Mission for Energy Transition organised a workshop at the Grimaldi Forum for Hotels that have signed the National Energy Transition Pact.
Title: “Achieving zero waste: what good practices for hotels?” He proposed to the Principality’s hotel establishments various actions to be implemented so as to reduce their GHG emissions.
Those invited to participate in the different trades involved: Directors, Human Resources Managers, technical teams, etc.
Johannes Saget, the consultant for The One Consulting, a Swiss consulting and training firm specialising in the luxury and hospitality industry, began by saying that the hotel industry, and more generally the luxury sector, are not incompatible with the notions of environment and energy transition. On the contrary, they enhance the quality of the customer experience.
With her many experiences, the speaker invited the hotels to take advantage of changing habits and practices. “It is by proposing different alternatives and by ‘challenging’ the suppliers that we will finally end up with a change in behaviour,” she said.
Reduction of plastics, reduction of food and energy waste, eco-responsible events, green labels, adapted communication … Johannes Saget proposed a complete overview of good practices to the representatives of this sector which includes the most committed and motivated players of the sector.
