For the last several years, at the initiative of Prince Albert II, the art of sculpture has held a special place in Monaco. Artcurial has chosen to place itself in this furrow for the inauguration of its office in Monaco. For the occasion, the auction house is organizing a “Monaco Sculptures” visit that is full of promise.
For its second edition, running from April 24 to 28, 2019, the Monaco Art Week will embrace all of the Principality’s neighborhoods. The Artcurial auction house will take advantage of the week to inaugurate its new permanent locale located at 3/9 boulevard des Moulins. It promises to be a splendid event. And the leaders of the auction house have been thinking big: an exhibition with a specific selection of sculptures by twentieth and twenty-first-century artists will be open to the public and accessible to all.
An auction in July
Takis, Caesar, Arman, Bernar Venet, Wang Du, and Richard Deacon… Some great names of the art dear to Praxiteles will first be gathered in the Monegasque art market’s new space. In a second time, these modern and contemporary creations will be disseminated throughout the Principality and will draw an unprecedented artistic walkthrough. Designed by Artcurial in partnership with the Société des Bains de Mer (SBM), this first edition of “Monaco Sculptures” will be visible throughout the Société des Bains de Mer network: Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo, Hôtel Hermitage Monte- Carlo, Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort, Monte-Carlo Beach… The works will then be sold at auction, at an exceptional sale on July 19th, at 3 pm.
“Monaco Sculptures”. From April 24, 2019, until the end of the summer. Auction on July 19, 2019.
