The F (ê) aites de la Danse will be back on July 4th 2020 in Monaco

In 2017, the first edition of the Dance Festival, conceived and created by Monte-Carlo Ballet choreographer Jean-Christophe Maillot, brought together over 28,000 people for a whole night around the Place du Casino. Three years after its first brilliant edition, the F (ê) aites de la danse will be back in July 2020.

Jean-Christophe Maillot confirmed it, with the will to make the appointment biannual. “The next edition is very organised, it’s very exciting, it’s rarely happened to me to think of a project in such an abstract way and to have done it so well. We did not expect to have so many people, 28 000 people; it was unheard of.”

For the 2020 edition, the choreographer intends to reinvest the heart of Monte Carlo. “We’re going to play it soft, without changing the design, I’m paying attention to the growing crisis, I want this second stage to be a reinforced first, and there will not be a lot of extra spillovers. the intimacy that made it successful, and then the gardens will be redone, and there is this wonderful Princess Charlene Avenue that inspires me.”

The decor will be the same, but Jean-Christophe Maillot imagines to even extend the party to Sunday. “I have this desire to extend until Sunday morning, to recover from the night. To finish with a great brunch, an after-detox and also to link the public. Those who come in the early evening and go to bed and who could come back the next day, we work on the idea.”

With a challenge: “to find this moment of sharing, this unexpected cohabitation in Monaco, from the simplest people to the richest”.
