The Prince’s Government, on the occasion of the European Immunization Week, organised by the World Health Organization from 24th to 30th April 2019, wishes to recall the effectiveness of vaccination and encourage people of all ages to be vaccinated.
Indeed, vaccination prevents every year a large number of communicable diseases, to reduce their effects but also to avoid contamination of the rest of the population by a group immunity essential to the protection of the most fragile people.
It is the best and sometimes the only protection against some rare but serious diseases.
Thus, plagues such as smallpox and poliomyelitis have disappeared from Western countries. Vaccinations make it possible to maintain at a low or even zero rate, severe communicable diseases, formerly frequent and likely to resurge if the vaccination coverage necessary for their control does not exist is not maintained.
Vaccination is essential to individual and public health and provides a level of preventive protection essential to the well-being of the population.
To be vaccinated and to make the necessary reminders are acts of solidarity of the responsibility of all for the preservation of the health of each one.
