Notice to all quadrants: Les Negresses Vertes are back! The opportunity to discover a group that has marked the minds of a generation to the youngest.
A mythical troupe of the 80s, Les Negresses Vertes, have combined the punk style with gipsy, Mediterranean and South American music to offer their reading of alternative French rock.
Composed of charismatic members and readily roaring, the band connects the tubes from the release of their album “Mlah” in 1988: “Zobi the fly” to “Under the bodega sun”, through “That’s summer” and “In front of the sea”, from memorable concerts to famous festivals. Les Négresses Vertes performed on many French and international stages until the tragic disappearance of their singer, Helno, in 1993 – a turning point in the band’s history. They then move towards a piece of music with more electronic accents, multiple collaborations (Massive Attack, Howie B, Khaled …), and continue to occur throughout the world until their separation in 2001.
For the 30 years of their first album, “Mlah”, The Green Negresses decide to reform and leave for a birthday tour … with a single stop in the Principality on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 20:30 at Espace Léo Ferré. On the program: a concert full of energy and humanity, like the seven members of the group.
