While waiting for training to start again next Monday, supporters of AS Monaco may well discover two new faces: goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte and defender Ruben Aguilar (Montpellier) should very quickly join the Principality’s club. Both players have already found a contractual agreement. This is two pieces of good team building news that should strengthen the quality of the workforce.

Certainly, the club has the obligation to sell several players to deflate the plethoric workforce and in as much there is no doubt that many departures will be announced in the coming weeks. Nevertheless, as announced by Oleg Petrov, the new general manager of the club, the club wants to be ambitious and remains determined to regain admission to the Champions League in a year. With that ambition comes signing new talent.

Signing two solid values

The Principality’s back-office has accelerated in recent days and these first two recruits should be formalized quickly. As announced, they are keeper Benjamin Lecomte (28 years) and right back, Ruben Aguilar (26 years). The two Montpellier players have secured five-year contractual agreements with the club. To date, the negotiations continue with the club héraultais requesting nearly 25 million euros for the two players. According to the newspaper L’Equipe, AS Monaco hopes to complete the double signing by the end of the weekend.
