Good news for Leonardo Jardim and the Monegasque supporters! After an initial loan of six months, the 30-year-old Portuguese midfielder Adrien Silva will return – barring a last-minute turnaround – to the Rock for a year. According to L’Equipe, ASM and Leicester have agreed on a new loan for one season. The player should be very quickly operational to help the club begin their season.
Adrien Silva is back! His was not necessarily the first name mentioned in recent days by the specialized Mercato media but no one will deny the pleasure of the returning talent who has already played under the colors of the club during the last campaign. Having arrived on loan in January 2019, Silva played 15 games as a starter in the second phase of the season.
And soon Lemina?
Silva’s arrival could not compromise the other recruitment efforts currently underway, namely the arrival – on loan – of Mario Lemina (Southampton) and Tiémoué Bakayoko (Chelsea). Combative and comfortable on the ball, the Portuguese international will bring experience in the midfield. With Golovine, Fabregas, and Jemerson (the defender has been placed in midfield in recent weeks, for lack of solution), Jardim has new options that should bear fruit in the field.
More than ever, with the reception of Nimes today, Sunday, August 25th, then the trip to Strasbourg on September 1st, the Monegasque team must quickly get off to the right foot.
