When it comes to AS Monaco, the transfer business is booming. Last night, the club registered official the (surprise) transfer of Arthur Zagré, the young talent from Paris Saint-Germain. Presented to the press this morning with defenseman Guillermo Maripan, the 17-year-old side defender should quickly train with another well-known Monegasque supporter: Tiémoué Bakayoko! It was Oleg Petrov himself who confirmed it at the team’s most recent press conference.
The Monegasque puzzle has taken a fantastic turn. On defense, we now know the face of the solid and imposing Chilean, Guillermo Maripan. But now, there is also the younger and promising young prodigy, Arthur Zagré. Yesterday, to everyone’s surprise, the left-back – who played his first minutes in Ligue 1 last Sunday night in PSG-Toulouse (4-0) – signed with Monaco for three years in a transfer estimated at 10 million euros.
A reinforced side
In midfield, the return of André Silva was the good news of last week. In the coming hours, Tiémoué Bakayoko’s slender figure should also be draped in red and white. This morning, Oleg Petrov hinted that his arrival was nearly complete. “We have been waiting for this arrival for a long time. We know him well. He is very strong and has great physical qualities. He knows the coach, the club and the championship, there will be no worries for his adaptation, nor surprise,” he said.
In attack, while the departure of Radamel Falcao is imminent, Petrov mentioned working on his replacement. It will not be Mauro Icardi, who has desires to move elsewhere but not necessarily to the principality. In addition to the match this Sunday in Strasbourg (5 pm), the Monegasque weekend promises to busy and decisive for the future of the squad!
