The much-anticipated return of the Roca Boys is finally at hand! Tonight, on the floor of Le Mans, AS Monaco starts its season with a preliminary round of the Coupe de France. The winner will be directly qualified for the final phase of the competition, which will take place in Trélazé on March 21 and 22, 2020. After a quality pre-season, the men of Sasa Obradovic are ready for a great campaign.
In all honesty, we were losing our patience! The 2019/2020 season kicks off tonight and, as ever, the match has a special flare with the Roca Boys coming back from a solid set of friendly matches. Especially since we are taking on a quality opponent. In Antares, Le Mans will want to impose its style in this preliminary round of the Coupe de France. The Sarthe team relies on an experienced squad, including D.J. Stephens and Brazilian veteran Joao Paulo Batista (37).
Without Sané, with Yeguete
On the Roca Team side, Sasa Obradovic will be able to test his new recruits, starting with Will Yeguete, the former MSB player. If Landing Sané (cervical sprain) is forfeit for the match, the coach will be spoiled for choice with good depth on the bench and plenty of players back from last season. “There is a strong will to succeed, the guys are very motivated. The first thing will be to be solid and to defend well. With this base, we will see what we are able to deploy in the attack. We will try to tackle this first outing in the right way,” Obradovic explained on the club’s official website.
To better prepare the reception of Gravelines Saturday (6:30 PM) for the opening of the Jeep Elite, there’s nothing like opening with a win!
