On the evening of November 12th, the Monaco Economic Board rewarded the major economic players of the Principality. This was its eighth edition organized at the Grimaldi Forum in partnership with the Nice-Matin Group. With a new award this year, the leaders and winning companies number seven in total.

This is an unmissable event that gives a snapshot of Monaco’s economy, the 2019 Eco Awards welcomed more than 400 people. To present the awards were the Minister of State Serge Telle as well as the Secretary of State Jacques Boisson. Also present, the president of the Automobile-Club of Monaco, Michel Boeri, received the special jury prize. A fair distinction for the tremendous economic benefits of the Monaco Grand Prix. The manager of the year is Frédéric Darnet, awarded for his remarkable management of the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel. The “sustainable development” trophy goes to the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco, the “international” award to the company Mercure International Monaco and the “Made in Monaco” prize to the Cruiseline cruise sales company. The French Startup Coraliotech won the prize for innovation. It creates pharmaceuticals and cosmetics from coral while respecting an ecological approach.

The prize “Monaco’s light in the world”

The new trophy aims to reward those who wear the colors of the Principality abroad. It was finally the Monte-Carlo Opera that achieved this prestigious distinction. A true ambassador of the Monegasque culture, it meets the success throughout the world thanks to his talented productions. Its director Jean-Louis Grinda received the award from Jean Castellini, Minister of Finance and the Economy.
