Hundreds of summer jobs in Monaco

Job d'été à Monaco

Monaco’s companies are starting their traditional annual recruitment campaigns to hire hundreds of extra workers for the upcoming summer season. The first job fair is held today at the Monte-Carlo Sporting where the Société des Bains de Mer is looking for some 700 people to fill positions in its famous hotels and restaurants.

Thousands of tourists come to Monaco every summer to spend their holidays and enjoy the top-of-the-range establishments that the Principality has to offer. In order to cope with this seasonal increase in tourists, the Principality’s hoteliers and restaurateurs are organising several recruitment days starting this month.

While work contracts fluctuate from two to six months during the tourist season, there are dozens of professions to be discovered: maîtres d’hôtel, barmen, baker’s assistants, cooks, lifeguards, baggage handlers, pilots, porters, security guards, receptionists… Having said that, one thing is clear: you need to understand what luxury and high standing are all about.

“This is the biggest job fair in Monaco this year”

The Société des Bains de Mer is the first employer to organise a job fair this year. SBM manages and owns the Monte Carlo Casino, the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, and the Hôtel de Paris in Monte Carlo and is recruiting about 700 people to work in one of these establishments. “This is the biggest job fair in Monaco this year”, said to Monaco Matin Jean-François Mariotte, Human Resources Director of the SBM Group.

Monaco’s companies give priority to seasonal workers from the local area or from neighbouring towns. Even if companies give priorities to Monegasques, this does not, of course, prevent them from attracting seasonal workers from other regions in France or abroad.
