The Monaco SIAM 2020, or Monaco International Auto Show, is an event that presents the future of the automobile and its industry. It focuses on renewable energies such as electric cars and hydrogen hybrids, as well as the exciting field of luxury cars.
For the 4th edition of the unique event, visitors were able to discover the latest technologies and innovations within the field of sports cars and hyper cars, and get a first-hand look at certain popular vintage models too.
With the unveiling of the Porsche Taycan taking the exhibition by storm, visitors were witness to the exciting development in comfort and power from the German brand’s latest model.
Nicholas Hesse, Founder of the exhibition, reaffirmed the importance of an auto show such as SIAM in the Principality. “Monaco is closely linked to the automobile with pre-existing big events that the Automobile Club organises, like the Grand Prix, the Rally […] But there were no auto shows, so we decided to create one.”
The Prince Albert II Foundation supports the event given SIAM’s emphasis on renewable energies and environmentally-friendly innovations. Moreover, the event is supported by other partners such as EDF, Michelin, the Compagnie Monégasque de Banque and the Monte-Carlo SBM.
From the electric city car to high-end luxury models, visitors are welcome to see and test drive the cars in a way that they could not do in museums or at racing events. Cars on display at the event can be driven through the streets of the Principality and on the Grand Prix circuit.
The atmosphere of SIAM is a more hands-on, futuristic concept in the world of car shows, with roughly 35,000 visitors attending the event last year.
