Virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans: Princess Charlene calls for donations in the fight against COVID-19
The Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and the Virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans are joining forces to appeal for donations in the fight against COVID-19.
In lieu of a race on the asphalt, which will now take place on September 19th and 20th, a new virtual edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place on June 13th and 14th, in which the Princess Charlene Foundation has entered a team. Their participation presents an opportunity to collect donations to support medical research in the fight against coronavirus.
24 hours to collect donations
“In the last few months, the whole world has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Medical staff, healthcare workers and researchers are tackling the problem, but we can all do something to contribute to the cause,” said HSH Princess Charlene. They have called on people to dig into their pockets for donations that will be collected during the 24 hours of the race.
The money raised by the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation will be donated to the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, an international organisation that ensures universal access to immunisation. These funds will be given alongside donations from the Principality of Monaco’s Global Accelerator Initiative against COVID-19.
