Monaco sends reassuring message to tourists visiting this summer
A short film promoting the rigorous health standards of the Principality was released on 24th July, on the occasion of the “Monaco Safe” health label launch.
The “Monaco Safe” label serves as a guarantee of quality and ensures that the establishment carrying this label complies with all the health safety criteria imposed by the Prince’s Government to combat the spread of coronavirus. “In order to establish a climate of confidence and security, spot checks are frequently carried out by the health services in order to verify the protocols put in place”, the Government pointed out.
Reassuring message for tourists
n this aesthetic short film, a soothing voice-over tells us that Monaco has been highlighted as a safe destination for tourists in these unprecedented times. The film “Monaco Safe” focuses on the main sanitary measures and how strictly they have been observed in the Principality’s hotels, shops, bars, restaurants, transport, theatres and casinos. It aims to send “a reassuring and kind message” to visitors wishing to stay on the Rock.
As in neighbouring countries, tourism in Monaco has been strongly impacted by the health crisis. “If we look back to last year, the situation is very dramatic. If we refer back to three months ago, we are rather satisfied,” Guy Antognelli, Director of Tourism and Conventions, told Monaco Info. In July 2020, Monaco’s hotels had only 42% occupancy. It remains to be seen, therefore, whether the “Monaco Safe” promotional campaign will change the situation.
