Who is the new head of the Monaco Criminal Investigation Division?

Police Commissioner Jean-François Mirigay was appointed Head of the Criminal Investigation Division at the Monaco’s Police Department at the end of June.

The news was made official in a sovereign order published in Monaco’s Official Journal on 26th June. Jean-François Mirigay succeeds Principal Commander Stéphane Giorgetti, Acting Head of the Criminal Investigation Division. The latter had momentarily occupied the post after the departure of Christophe Haget, former head of Monaco Criminal Investigation Division.

A post held in Nice since 2016

A graduate of the Institut d’études politiques de Bordeaux, Divisional Commissioner Jean-François Mirigay began his career in Lyon. He was later appointed head of the Bayonne research and intervention brigade and then attaché to the French Embassy in Sofia, Bulgaria. On his return to France, he was appointed head of the coordination centre for the fight against drugs in Toulon, then chargé de mission at the General Directorate of the National Police before returning to Toulon. Since 2016, he has held the position of departmental director in Nice.

The new head of the Monegasque Criminal Investigation Division took the oath of office at the end of June, before the magistrates of the Court of Appeal, who wished him every success.
