AS Monaco have parted ways with manager Philippe Clement after the team ended the season in sixth place in the Ligue 1 standings.

Having failed to qualify for any form of European football, despite battling for Champions League qualification until recently, following their terrible run of results to end the campaign, that saw them lose three straight and win only four of their last 14 matches, the club has acted to relieve him of his duties.

“This is a difficult decision to take as Philippe has given his all and has always behaved in a professional manner. On behalf of the club, I would like to thank him for all his efforts,” explained Sporting Director Paul Mitchell.

The official statement on ASM’s website also spoke glowingly of his efforts to steer the team to a third place league finish last season after taking over in January 2022 and highlighted what a tremendous job he did developing the plethora of gifted talents at the club such as Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi, Youssouf Fofana or Vanderson.

The search now begins for a new manager for Les Monegasques as everyone associated with the team waits with anticipation in regards to who will take over the managerial reins for next season.
