As part of the Water Safety Day organised by her foundation, the Princess visited Calvi on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 June.

Princess Charlene, a former professional swimmer, is never far from the water, especially when it comes to raising awareness of drowning among the very young. On the ‘Isle of Beauty’, where she stayed last weekend, the Princess attended training sessions given by two of the Foundation’s ambassadors: Pierre Frolla, four-time world record holder in freediving, accompanied by his team from the Monegasque Academy of the Sea, and Monegasque gymnast Kevin Crovetto.

For this 3rd edition, the Princess was also able to count on the expertise of the SNSM and the Haute-Corse fire brigade. In all, nearly 80 schoolchildren took part in introductory workshops on lifesaving, first aid and water safety on the fine sand.
