Founder of A Roca, member of the National Council and then of the Prince’s Government, Albert Croesi was an iconic figure in the Principality.

Just last week, with his characteristic smile, he was announcing the programme details of the Prince Rainier III centenary festivities, in his role as secretary of the Organising Committee. Sadly, Albert Croesi suffered a fatal heart attack on the night of Friday 2 to Saturday 3 June, aged 62.

The local figure was “in love with his country,” according to Monaco Info. The entrepreneur created the A Roca bakery and was constantly involved in Monegasque life.

Albert Croesi was first a member of the National Council’s watchdog unit, then a member of the Government as Chief Country Officer for Quality of Life and public service users Relations, at the Ministry of State. He was instrumental in rehousing Monegasque residents following the issues that arose at the Jardins d’Apolline.

He was also Managing Director of Monaco Inter expo, now Pavillon Monaco, and Vice-President Delegate of the Federation of Grimaldi Historic Sites. Albert Croesi, who was responsible for organising the Sites’ annual Forum on the Rock, passed away just a few days before the fourth edition, due to take place on 10 and 11 June.

Prince Albert II has learned of the sudden death of Mr Albert Croesi in his sixty-second year. Commitment, energy, a sense of duty and public interest, and his unswerving dedication to the Principality of Monaco and the Princely Family: these were the qualities that fuelled Albert Croesi’s actions throughout his life.
