Paw-fect comforters

What a lovely gesture from the Prince’s Carabinieri, in the run-up to the festive season.

The Carabinieri were in uniform when they visited the Princess Grace Hospital (CHPG), and in particular the children’s ward. They met the young inpatients, and gave each of them a paw-fect plushie: a teddy dressed in a navy blue jumper, with a design in the colours of Monaco’s flag and bear-ing (!) the crest of the Prince’s Carabinieri Company.

It was a very kind gesture, and it highlights the benefit of having a plushie to hug when a child is in hospital. According to a number of psychological research studies, cuddly toys – and teddy bears in particular – help to reduce anxiety and mitigate negative emotions.
