A day out on the boat, a prize-giving ceremony, then dinner at La Môme… During his latest visit to Monaco, Cristiano Ronaldo attracted even more than the usual level of attention that his worldwide fame commands,  because of a prestigious event he was attending. Accompanied by his partner Georgina Rodríguez, Ronaldo spent some time in the Principality just before joining the Portuguese national team for their Nations League matches.

Cristiano Ronaldo was in Monaco last week to attend the draw for the league phase of the Champions League, where he was honoured by UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin with a special trophy recognising his outstanding achievements in the competition. The landmark occasion celebrated his long-standing contributions to world football as he prepares to potentially take part in the 2026 World Cup.

But before that, the international football icon took time out to enjoy the Principality in his own way, along with his partner Georgina Rodríguez and their children.

A boat trip off the Monaco coast

In a video posted on his brand-new YouTube channel, Ronaldo is seen enjoying a trip out to sea on his 27-metre Azimut Grande yacht, which cost over €5 million, before the Champions League ceremony at the Grimaldi Forum. Swimming, lunch at sea, Louis Vuitton fittings, make-up, photo shoot… The good life in Monaco!

On her Instagram account, Georgina posted photos taken on the super yacht before the big gala.

She also shared a carousel of photos taken during their stay, including one taken at the prestigious La Môme Monte-Carlo restaurant. The caption reads: “I love you”.

A high-profile appearance at the Grimaldi Forum

At the end of the day, Cristiano Ronaldo headed to the Grimaldi Forum to receive his trophy as the Champions League’s all-time top scorer. He was eagerly awaited by his fans, who turned out in force for the event!

On his Instagram account, he shared photos with UEFA president Aleksander Čeferin and Italy’s former international goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

Ronaldo, a Riviera regular

Cristiano Ronaldo is no stranger to the Côte d’Azur. The Portuguese striker has often visited the Principality and the region over the years, whether for professional or personal reasons.

In 2020, Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with the prestigious Golden Foot Award, a distinction reserved for world-renowned football players for their sporting achievements and personality. The ceremony, which is usually held in Monaco, took place in Italy that year due to health measures, but Ronaldo’s footprints were added to the Promenade des Champions in Monaco, joining other footballing legends such as Pelé and Maradona.

Ronaldo attended the Monaco Grand Prix in 2019. At the event, he was seen with his son and partner, exploring behind the scenes and even trying out the cockpit of Lewis Hamilton’s car. His keen interest in motor racing has also led him to have frequent contacts with F1 figures, including at events in Maranello, Italy, where he visited Ferrari’s headquarters.

Earlier, in 2014 and 2019, Ronaldo attended the UEFA Best Player in Europe Award gala at the Grimaldi Forum, further strengthening his ties with the region. His regular appearances in Monaco show that the Principality is not only a preferred holiday destination, but also a significant location in Ronaldo’s career and personal life.

Aside from football, Ronaldo also appreciates the beauty and luxury that Monaco and the Côte d’Azur have to offer. He has often been seen on holiday on the French Riviera, whether aboard luxury yachts or visiting prestigious venues. These visits allow him to relax away from the spotlight while enjoying the opulent lifestyle of the region.
