Inaugurated on 25 January 1985 by Prince Rainier III, the Louis II Stadium is a real monument in Monaco. Its simplistic, understated architecture allows it to blend in with the Monégasque landscape, making it a unique stadium in both Europe and the rest of the world. Located in the heart of the Principality, in the Fontvieille district, thousands of lights illuminate the stadium on match nights. Visible from all over Monaco, the Louis II Stadium is the meeting place of AS Monaco. Moreover, the stadium has 18,523 seats.
More than just a football stadium, it also houses an athletics tracks, an omnisports hall, home of the Roca Team, and even a nautical centre. Not to mention all of its specialised sports facilities, medical sports centre, the ASM FC training centre and several commercial and administrative buildings. It should be noted that the stadium is incredibly innovative and up-to-date, often setting trends and using the latest technologies, such as their high-tech video surveillance systems.
