The Michelin Guide, often nicknamed the Red Guide, is a directory. This gastronomic guide was published for tourists and members of the hospitality sector, at the beginning of the 20th century. Published by the Michelin tyre company, their logo adorns the front cover.
For tourists, it often complements the Michelin Green Guide, which describes the main points of interest and sights worth seeing in an area. It also includes Michelin’s maps, however most of these have now been replaced by modern GPS technology.
