Peter (Paul Bettany) is an unlucky man, both professionally and personally. Seeded at the bottom of the world tennis rankings, he manages to make it to the prestigious Wimbledon tournament against all odds. There he meets and falls in love with American tennis star Lizzie (Kirsten Dunst).
Spurred on by his sudden good fortune, his new love and his prowess on the court, Peter climbs the ranks of the tournament players and now even has the possibility of making his life’s dream come true: winning the championship… If his luck doesn’t run out.
